About Us
The
Chiltern and Thames workshop group started in 1999 when a
group of counselling trainees wanted to invite a facilitator
to offer a workshop locally just for themselves and their
colleagues. Maureen Schiller (one of their tutors)
volunteered to co-ordinate the organisation of the workshop.
It was so successful that they decided to book a few more
workshops. Kaye McDowell offered to take care of the
finances involved, a bank account was opened and Chiltern
and Thames BAPCA (CTBAPCA) was formed.

As counsellors and
students in counselling training experienced and enjoyed the
workshops offered, the group gradually grew in numbers.
Today we have more than 350 members in our group who
practise or have an interest in the Person Centred Approach.
As the group has grown in members so in turn has the group
committee needed to grow, still fortunately having the
founder of the group as Patron to offer ongoing support when
needed. The committee now consists of a Coordinator, a
Treasurer and Bookings Coordinator, a PR and Refreshments
Coordinator and a Chairperson.
From time to time vacancies on the CTBAPCA Committee will be
published on the website and via email bulletins. |
