Here’s what Linda
says about the workshop she offers:
As counsellors we
meet clients with ‘boundary issues’ regularly. But what are boundaries and why
do we have them?
Participants will be
offered the opportunity to:
• Define and explore
their understanding of personal and professional boundaries. An example of this
would be to examine why it is that our boundaries are flexible with some people
in our life and more rigid with others.
• Explore practice
issues that may be influenced by a boundary issue.
The day will consist
of small and large group working. Much of the work is experiential and
participants are invited to bring for discussion, real life scenarios of
boundary and conflict issues..
Linda Creek, BA (Hons) Person Centred Counselling:
Linda is a Person Centred Counsellor, Supervisor and
Trainer, working in private practice in Marlow. In 1983 Linda embarked on her
first counselling training with a local agency supporting clients with issues of
alcohol and drug misuse. Two years later she left a nursing career to take up a
post as Welfare Officer in a Women’s Aid refuge.
While working at Women’s Aid, it was Linda’s
responsibility to oversee the welfare and therapeutic support of women and
children staying in the refuge, as well as ‘outreach’ women in the community,
who were continuing to live with domestic violence. She undertook training in
Counselling, Group-work and Family Therapy.
Since leaving the refuge in 1999 and setting up a full
time private practice, Linda continues to supervise and train staff in refuges,
and regularly enjoys group-work with residents on issues such as Boundaries and
Self Esteem.
She is currently studying for an MA in Practice Based Play
Therapy.
