Workshops Programme

Our programme of workshops is constantly evolving and we recommend that you visit this page regularly to see what is new. For details of workshops, please click the relevant green buttons below. To book a place on a workshop, please follow the instructions on our booking form which can be accessed by clicking the button at the bottom of each workshop page.

Chiltern & Thames BAPCA workshops are for qualified counsellors, counsellors in training and also for those working in the caring professions. All workshops and courses count towards BACP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and you will receive a certificate of attendance.

CTBAPCA members are encouraged to give feedback about their subjects of interest by emailing the CTBAPCA Coordinator. Where possible, these requests will be met. We look forward to welcoming you.

Child Abuse The aim of this 2-day workshop is to explore child abuse from a child’s perspective and its impact on emotional development as well as identify signs of hidden trauma. Facilitated by Fran Halford on Dates to be revised.
Private Practice Details to be given later. Facilitated by Maria Facey and Jan Lewin on Saturday 7th June 2008.
Supervision This workshop looks at some of the many ways in which we can use supervision to support us in our work, to enhance our practice, and to benefit our relationships with our clients. Facilitated by Mike Worrall on Saturday 27th September 2008.
Boundaries This workshop gives the opportunity to define and explore our understanding of personal and professional boundaries and explore practice issues. Facilitated by Linda Creek on Saturday 4th October 2008.
Understanding Trauma This introductory workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore some of the key principles central to working with trauma and to review how these inform good practice from a person centred perspective. Facilitated by Dagmar Edwards on Saturday 11th October 2008.
Attachment This person-centred workshop explores early patterns of attachment and their influence later in life. Facilitated by Sharon Fairclough on Saturday 1st November 2008.
Depression Details to be given later. Facilitated by Dagmar Edwards on Saturday 8th November 2008.
Bereavement This workshop explores different kinds of loss and how we can support people in their journey of grief. Facilitated by Sharon Fairclough on Saturday 29th November 2008.
